It's a bit better (and creamier) than the 2013 Islay Barley (rated 3.75 stars) after tasting them side-by-side, but I'm still not impressed enough to give it a full 4-star recommendation.

About this bottle
Distilled in 2013, this Bruichladdich bottling is comprised entirely of bere barley cultivated on Orkney by the Orkney College Agronomy Institute. The unpeated single malt matured for 10 years in a combination of 80% first-fill bourbon casks and 20% second-fill Pauillac wine casks. It is presented at 50% ABV and without chill-filtration, having been released in October 2023.

Damp grass and German bread. An exploration of barley terroir, but not my preferred flavor.
