Wilbur Dixon 4.3

Nose: Vibrant, red fruits, oak, vanilla, a subtle smokiness, and the typical salinity found in Bowmore, along with orange marmalade. Palate: The texture is amazing, rich and buttery, with lovely fruit notes, a blend of red fruits and melon. The salt and smoke are more subdued here. The oak provides well-balanced spices, showcasing the quality of the cask and bottling. Finish: Deliciously rich, and unusually, the smoke fades before the fruit. Quite remarkable.

Zachary Valencia 4.5

Oak has a bolder scent, perhaps with tannins or a vinous quality. The initial impact is strong, suggesting a higher alcohol content. A full-on flavor explosion follows, featuring sweetness, smoke, wood, and wine. As I continue to sip, the alcohol sensation diminishes, and the flavors become more prominent. It would be excellent with added complexity.

Oakiness, dry tannins, red grapes—everything you'd anticipate from a spirit aged in Bordeaux barrels. I struggled to find additional flavor dimensions. There's also a hint of sweetness and smoke. Enjoyed it alongside some dark chocolate.
