This ranked fourth out of six in the order we tasted them, not based on quality. It came right after another spirit, so my perception might have been affected by what I'd just tasted. With that said, this was like a souped-up version of that other spirit. It had similar aromas and flavors, but with more intensity and more drying, mineral characteristics from the middle of the palate to the end. It was also quite harsh on the sinuses, and I'm surprised that a slight increase in proof would make such a difference. I can't say I like one more than the other, especially considering the huge difference in price. I never saw this available for less than about $200, and I can confidently say it's not worth $120 more than the other well-regarded brand.

Neat. A selection from Lucky's. A very light, bright aroma. A burst of vanilla. Wafer cookie. A touch of cherry. Oak ties everything together. The alcohol mellowed after 15 minutes, opening it up. A hint of spearmint. A truly exceptional nose. Thick mouthfeel. Darker on the tongue. Oak and vanilla. Oh, it's good. It's really good. Crème brûlée. Those vanilla and caramel notes with the oak. A hint of cherry. The legs linger persistently. Damn. This is the finest MGP I've encountered, and I've tried quite a few. Yes, these legs are still going, and it remains delicious.
