Michel Calloway 3.5

Big thanks to the fine people at whiskey galore whiskey retailer in Christchurch, NZ for many fantastic memories, from establishing the Last Word bar where I've invested heavily over recent months visiting weekly, to organizing the world's best festival, Dramfest, every two years. Though I've purchased items from them online for years, I had never visited their physical store. I stopped in for a glass hand-blown whiskey water dropper (no more struggling to get the right amount of water from the tap!) and before I knew it, they offered me a taste of this. Truly good people! Even the speaker of our parliament stopped by for a tasting, indicating they are well-connected. The dram itself was pleasant, with a creamy honey creme brulee character, though the alcohol was not perfectly balanced. I'm unsure if my rating is fair, as I had spent the previous day drinking wine in vineyards in the Waipara region, and the two nights prior at the Last Word bar, so I wasn't really in the mood for drinking. I'm thinking 3.5.

Delicious. Trying for the first time at AandC’s. Also trying a Rancore’s Toothpick because my brother-in-law Caution just does things like that.
