Vernon Harvey 4.0

Nose: Vanilla, wood, honey, toasted bread, and butter. Sweet aroma. Palate: Black pepper, oak, sweetness, barley sugar, and orchard fruits like pear/plum. A hint of mustiness from age is present. Finish: The finish is long and features notes of dryness, wood, pepper, liquorice, banana bread, sweet oak, and vanilla. The finish evokes memories of those old-fashioned menthol liquorice and blackcurrant candies. There is a considerable amount of sweet oak and vanilla. This is a delightful, mature, and oaky whisky that still maintains its sweetness. Very nice. It was the top-ranking spirit from the six sampled, receiving 53% of the votes for favorite of the evening. 87% of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky. This expression received my vote for favorite.
