Armand House 3.0

Very interesting. Strong malty notes on both the nose and palate, for reasons unclear. It's spicy, sweet, and earthy. The flavors are intense. It might not be for everyone due to its uniqueness, but I believe those who enjoy it will truly appreciate it. Compared to 001, this is more of a specific profile/occasional whiskey. I could drink 001 anytime and recommend it without hesitation, but I'd be more selective with this one. It still aligns with the distillery's approach of aiming high; I admire what they're doing. 1/20/18

Spicy throughout. A lovely scent on the nose, primarily spiced with a sweet finish. Thick consistency. Excellent mouthfeel, with sweet cola and a nutmeg spice. A very good rye overall.

Lyle Naranjo 4.0

Nose: An abundance of sweet vanilla, gentle spice, and notes reminiscent of baking spices. Palate: Bold rye character, yet remarkably smooth, with hints of fruit and cherry, leading into an extended finish. Excellent for someone who enjoys rye.

Tastes like cola, cola, cola. The nose is fantastic and likely got me overly excited after a 100 proof Knob Creek 12... notes of milk chocolate and Cabernet.

I really like this rye. To be truthful, when I first opened it, I wasn't impressed—too salty. But after a week, it opened up and had a complexity comparable to Thomas Handy. So delicious!

At nearly 70 proof, this is quite spirited, but the warmth was not unpleasant. Beautiful flavor notes emerge even at this high proof.
