Deep and fruity, supported by a rich oak base. The mouthfeel is moderate, but it has a pleasingly long and consistent finish from the oak and aging. The finish is the most enjoyable element of this whiskey. As it rests in the glass, the palate reveals more pleasant red and orchard fruits. What starts as tart green fruit transforms into ripe, stewed red apple and plum.

About this bottle

The largest component (48%) was aged for 14 years, complemented by two 10-year-old expressions (29% and 15%) and an 8% portion of a 6-year-old four-grain bourbon distilled by BBCo. This release became available in September 2024 with a suggested retail price of $139.99.

Nose: dark red fruit, fig, rich, rolo candy Palate: very long finish, lingers on tongue, dark fruit carries over, dark caramel, light char. One of the best whiskeys of the year! Very fruit-forward and rich. The finish stays for an extended time and there is no harshness. The longer this bottle is open, the better it gets.
Nose: Raisinets. Taste: More notes of fruit and chocolate caramel. Aftertaste: Fruity, floral, and spicy with a medium-long finish.
A little spicy on its own. It gets much better after adding two drops of water to a one ounce serving.
Fantastic, among the premier bourbons I've sampled from Bardstown.
Very nice and tasty. Great finish on this one!
