With no prior reviews and only having tasted Edradour 12 Caledonia before, I took a chance and bought this on a whim. I'm so glad I took the risk! An aroma of honey, caramel, and smoke. It's also very, very rich. You can tell this is going to be exceptional. On the palate, a significant sweetness hits first. Honey, barley sugars, turbinado sugar, vanilla frosting. Caramel apple. Some floral heather that reminds me of a cask strength Highland Park. Then the earthy smoke arrives and lingers for minutes. It's perfectly complemented on the finish by a subtle mintiness and drying oakiness. If you can find it, buy it and savor it. Or please don't, so I might be able to find another bottle.
