The year 2017 saw the second offering from the Ardnamurchan distillery's spirit range. It was created from a blend of peated and unpeated spirits aged in 130 small sherry casks stored on the top level of their warehouse, then combined in ex-Pedro Ximénez casks for an additional four months. It's a remarkable dram considering its young age of only two years. The nose had a fermented cabbage aroma, and the palate was incredibly complex, with sherry, nuts, smoke, nutmeg, sultanas, and much more. Approximately $80 USD, and it's worth every penny. I really must acquire a bottle!
