Douglas Boland 4.3

Aroma: salted caramel, berries, cinnamon, ginger, and a mineral hint like Talisker. Palate: toffee, blueberry pie filling, mild peat, ginger, pepper. Initially, this was quite peppery. Overly peppery. However, after being open for a couple of months and with a splash of water, this whisky truly shines. It's fairly direct - what you detect in the aroma is largely what you get on the palate. But it's a really well-crafted whisky. As someone who enjoys Madeira-aged whisky, I anticipated enjoying this more than the Midgie, but my pleasure with this one is about the same. Thus, this receives the same score.

George Tafoya 4.3

Aroma: Marzipan, honey, dates, vanilla, with a gentle smokiness. Palate: Full-bodied and slightly oily. Strong marzipan flavor, hints of nuts, sweet Madeira wine. Noticeable baking spices. A mineral or agave quality? Finish: Warming, with a touch of stone fruit or minerality.

Quentin Lane 3.5

An enjoyable aroma, rich with various fruits and sweetness, yet less sharp than anticipated for a cask strength offering. The palate is remarkably well-balanced, merging the rich sweetness of sherry with the spicy and bold character of Madeira. An excellent finish!
