The smoke is prominent and delightful. This expression triumphed in the blind comparison. Some may dismiss this as another Ardbeg marketing ploy, but they would be missing out. It's a commendable drink and I suggest Ardbeg enthusiasts acquire it. Complete blind tasting notes: Black - 3rd Place (Uigeadail) Nose: Peat, sweet, smoke, sea notes, burning wood, ethanol; more akin to Lagavulin. Taste: Burning sensation on the tongue, smoky, short finish; feels more like alcohol burn than an aged finish. Red - 1st Place (Smokiverse) Nose: Peat, medicinal, seaweed, bubblegum, leather; the most complex and Ardbeg-like nose. Taste: Oily texture, superior palate, spice, and a long finish; markedly better than the black sample. Green - 2nd Place (Wee Beastie) Nose: Peat, mossy, hints of sour, less sweet. Taste: Lighter than the red sample, sharp smoke note, medium finish.

Nose: Smells like Ardbeg, classic strong meaty peat smoke, with very prominent sweet vanilla. Palate: Sweet, vanilla, honey smoked ham, with a classic Ardbeg smoke foundation. Possibly lightly fruity? Finish: Drying Ardbeg ash and oak.

Smoke is present in the scent and flavor. It's pure peat, pepper, yeast, bacon, and pig fat. There's a chemical note and a pleasant lingering finish.

Reminds me of Uigedail, very rounded, voluminous, yet still has that typical Ardbeg edge, very tasty.

Nose presents smoke, spice, and sweetness. The palate has a light mouthfeel, with savory notes. Finish is smoky brine and savory.

It's smooth, sweet, and overwhelmingly sweet.
