Lewis Charlton 3.8

This distillery-only Ardbeg bottling helps make up for Perpetuum, which was my first disappointing special release from the distillery. It offers a higher alcohol content and comes from a selection of casks different from the general release. Raisins and gasoline dominate the aroma. The taste includes figs and cocoa powder, with the finish bringing dark chocolate. It's quite good, though special releases from Ardbeg always face the challenge of surpassing the main lineup.

Jody Laney 4.5

I was given a generous pour from a good friend who appreciates sharing fine whisky. It's truly remarkable and a special treat. It distinctly tastes like Ardbeg, but I can't judge its value as I have no idea about the cost or current market price. If you enjoy Islay whiskies, you should definitely seize the opportunity to try it.

Marylou Alonzo 4.5

Strong aroma of marshmallows or a similar soft dessert. Custard or something akin. The body has a similar richness, but the flavor is less peat-forward. A slight sweetness carries through to the finish. A touch of heat, but mostly sweet vanilla and perhaps fruit. Marshmallow.

Mary Jacob 5.0

A pour from the Drammers Club. A standout pour, exceeding the quality of the 19 Traigh Bahn and Dark Cove core releases. It has notes of Berries, Raisins, Chocolate, Almonds, Smoke, Pepper, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Cherry, Caramel, Cashews, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, Citrus, and Mango.

Imogene Faber 4.3

Aged in Bourbon & Sherry Casks. Tasting notes include dark chocolate, pine, a hint of green coffee, and a touch of oakiness.

Lenora Mccann 4.5

Smoky nose. Very smooth. Purchased as a sample from Ardbeg.
