Nose: Floral, hay, charred, wood shavings, lemon cheesecake, furniture polish, light wet peat Palate: Woody, lemon/citrus candies, hay, damp peat, BBQ smoke, sweet, cherries and cocoa flavors. Finish: Medium short. A sourness on the finish. Peat, chocolate cherries, and wood. Smoke and wood, cherries and chocolate. The lemon candies and chocolate cherries appear first, followed by a nice hit of damp BBQ smoke and peat. The peat comes through as a secondary note – unusual. A lovely drink! Came in second place out of the six drams, with 17% of the final vote for favorite of the night. 74% of those present enjoyed the whisky.
