A True Harmony of Flavours 66.162 (SMWS)

Color: Sunlight filtering through Golden Grasses of Grain Nose: Green apples, grapes, heather, and with a deep inhale, baking spice at the back of the throat Palate: Sweet creamy vanilla, honeycomb cereal, oak tannins in the background with cinnamon lightly tickling your tonsils. Grass, leather, and smoke are present throughout. Finish: Long, warming, and inviting with pepper, cinnamon, citrus, and cardamom. Balance: It lives up to its moniker. A genuinely superb harmony of diverse yet complementary flavors. It's deceptive because the high ABV is not perceived in taste or smell. Water wasn't necessary, though I will add 2 drops to the bottom of the dram to see the effect. Water: The aroma became more floral: Rose, Geranium, African Violet. Palate: Complex, as water seems to amplify the sensation on the tongue. Creamy cinnamon candy ice cream, with a vegetal aftertaste, merging the sweet floral notes from the nose with more savory baking spice, oak tannins, and smoky leather. Finish: Just as lengthy, leaving you salivating. Overall: 4/5, this is freshly opened, so the spirit may evolve with more time in the bottle below the shoulder. I will provide an update if it does. Regardless, a truly enjoyable dram with many layers and flavors. A definite repurchase.
