Wow! This spirit reacted strongly with water in my clean copita due to the sugar and alcohol content. I've never seen such legs. The aroma has significantly more alcohol than certain other brands, along with a rich sweetness reminiscent of peanut butter and caramel, almost like molasses. There might be a subtle spicy note in the nose as well. The taste is incredibly viscous and sugary, like a melting butterscotch candy. It's fantastic! I actually detect butterscotch more than peanut butter. The alcohol feels sharp and a little off, but if it were marketed as a butterscotch-flavored vodka, it would be award-winning. The alcohol is still too sharp and needs more richness to balance it out. However, it perfectly captures the essence of butterscotch mixed with vodka, which is something some people would likely enjoy. The main issue is that it's labeled as peanut butter whiskey, yet neither flavor is truly prominent. There are faint hints, but I wouldn't want someone to be misled. It would be like expecting a specific brand and getting a completely different, albeit good, spirit, leading to mixed feelings, especially if used in a cocktail. Ultimately, I have to deduct points because it doesn't deliver on its promise, but putting the sharp alcohol aside, I do find myself enjoying it. It's not excellent, but its imitation of butterscotch is so good that it deserves at least a 12. I'll rate it a 13, minus 1 for the misrepresentation, settling at a 12. Another brand offers more complexity and balance with a better profile, but it also doesn't taste much like peanut butter and its identity is unclear. These ratings are challenging. The harshness is simply too intense. Adding water does improve it, though. I won't penalize it too heavily for the high-proof harshness since water rectifies it without compromising the flavor, but a slight reduction is necessary. A score of 10 to 11 seems more fitting now, so I'll go with 11. Actually, the artificial note on the finish makes me drop it to a 10. If I were to buy a peanut butter whiskey, I'd first seek medical attention, then opt for a different brand. It clearly doesn't taste like peanut butter, but as a sweetened whiskey, it's a solid choice.

I'm quite confident they achieved their objective. It has a prominent peanut butter flavor. Some might perceive it as more of a butterscotch taste. It might be slightly too syrupy when consumed neat, but a bit of ice would instantly resolve that. For a 99 proof spirit, it tastes quite good and is easily drinkable on its own. This appears very suitable for mixing with other beverages to impart a peanut butter or butterscotch flavor without diminishing its potency. So far, I've only combined it with their jelly-flavored 99 proof liqueur. That mixture is palatable and packs a significant punch.

Upon a second tasting, its quality has diminished. The alcohol is more prominent, and it lacks the richness of comparable options, though it's not weak by any means. The alcohol flavor is a bit too strong. It's rather unremarkable, but still superior to most flavored vodkas.
