291 Bad Guy Colorado Bourbon

This four-grain bourbon has a dark copper hue and thin, oily legs. On the nose, it's full-bodied and generally sweet, presenting notes of sour candy, overripe peach, apple skins, sweet floral honey, melted caramel, milk chocolate, leather, and sourdough bread. The palate has an oily mouthfeel, and after the initial warmth subsides, notes of cherry, strawberry candy, dry oak, grassy straw, dark chocolate, vanilla, and BBQ char emerge. The finish is extended, lingering, and spicy, reminiscent of curry with dry oak tannins. I'm sipping from one of the bottles of batch #3 of this special release bourbon from 291, and it's truly exceptional! The addition of wheat to the blend broadens and softens the already intricate flavor, resulting in a superb dram! Give it a try if you get the opportunity! Cheers!

Nose: Presents Willett characteristics with a subtle smoky scent. Sweet, spicy, with an unexplainable Willett oak flavor. Hints of smoke and vanilla in the finish, along with pepper, leading to a medium-long, eventually dry finish.

Quite potent, tasting every bit of 120 proof. Once the intense vapor dissipates, it reveals some very pleasant oak and spice. I enjoy the sweet notes reminiscent of Aspen.

Strong alcohol but sweet light nose. Heavy anise and pine in the mouth. Heavy burn after but little after taste. Quite delicious.

A four-grain bourbon, quite sweet. It goes down easily with good flavor.
