History
This Young Man is essentially a cognac-based Sweet Manhattan, featuring a splash of orange curaçao. The amount of curaçao used here is greater than the "2 Dashes" indicated in the 1930 edition of The Savoy Cocktail Book by Craddock.
This recipe is adapted from Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book under the title YOUNG MAN COCKTAIL. The instructions are to shake well and strain into a cocktail glass, then add an olive or cherry. Ingredients: 1 Dashes Angostura Bitters. 2 Dashes Curaçao. ¼ Italian Vermouth. ¾ Brandy.
