History
Gin and orange are complemented by a subtle absinthe note.
This is one of the earliest published recipes featuring vodka and is attributed to Harry MacElhone, who also created the Monkey Gland. This cocktail is nearly identical to the Monkey Gland, differing only by the addition of a splash of vodka. The Yokohama cocktail appears in MacElhone's 1923 book, Harry of Ciro's ABC Of Mixing Cocktails. Yokohama Cocktail. 1 dash of Absinthe. 1/6 Grenadine. 1/6 Vodka. 1/3 Orange juice. 1/3 Gin. Shake well, and strain into cocktail glass.
