History
An apricot-flavoured Irish whiskey Daiquiri.
Adapted from a recipe created by Aaron Wall at his Homeboy bar in Islington, London, England. The Wogan, originally prepared with Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey, remains a signature cocktail at Homeboy. The drink is named after Sir Terry Wogan (1938-2016), the well-regarded BBC television and radio presenter, who hailed from Limerick, Ireland, and was considered "a national treasure." Aaron Wall explains his approach: "What we're trying to showcase with this cocktail is that Irish whiskey can sit in an aspect of a grassier rum, this is a formula for an Irish whiskey cocktail: - 40ml Irish - 10ml of a liqueur that complements or contrasts a tasting note of the whiskey - 15ml lime - 15ml 1:1 sugar - 3 dashes saline or a pinch of salt to draw flavours together. That's why in the Wogan we use apricot liqueur to complement the rum finish cask flavour of the Teeling Small Batch."
