6 slice Cucumber (fresh)
1 1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Elderflower liqueur
3/4 oz Lime juice
1/3 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
2 oz Soda water

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

  1. 1 MUDDLE cucumber in base of shaker
  2. 2 Add next 4 ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into ice-filled glass
  3. 3 TOP with soda.

History

Crisp and clean with lime and floral elderflower laced with gin.

This cocktail was adapted from a recipe created in 2008 by Rene Dominguez, a bartender at the Ella Dining Room in Sacramento, USA. It gained popularity at Shady Lady Saloon, also located in Sacramento. The original preparation used a gin with a distinct cucumber profile, such as Hendrick's.
