History
A spirit-forward after-dinner cocktail, perhaps improved by a generous spray from an orange zest twist.
Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book includes a recipe for this drink. WHIST COCKTAIL. ¼ Bacardi Rum. ¼ Italian Vermouth. ½ Calvados. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. This cocktail is a delightful beverage with a history in the West Indies stretching back countless years. It could be characterized as a West Indies "Sundowner".
