Ingredients

2 oz Tennessee whiskey
1 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
1 dash Aromatic bitters
1/2 oz Egg white (pasteurised)

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

The Whiskey Sour's first known publication appeared in 1862, within the pages of Jerry Thomas' How to Mix Drinks or the Bon Vivant's Companion. The Jack Daniels distillery itself was established and registered a mere four years after that.
