History

This Old Fashioned-style cocktail is influenced by toasty corn and enlivening chili.

The American restaurant chain Taco Bell traces its name to founder Glen Bell. He opened Bell's Drive-In and Taco Tia in San Bernardino, California, in 1954. The Taco Bell name was first used in 1962, with the opening of his second restaurant in Downey, California. Bell franchised his concept two years later, and within three years, 100 Taco Bells were in operation. Another three years saw the number grow to 325. In 2023, the chain operated 8,564 restaurants across 32 countries.
