History

By the close of 2023, it was evident that the Spicy Margarita was poised to be a significant cocktail trend for 2024. Its widespread popularity and origin can be traced back to Soho House's Picante de la Casa, created in 2012 by Chris Ojeda of Soho House, West Hollywood. This drink was a simplified version of another 'House' cocktail, the Margarita Picante, originating from the nearby Soho Beach House Miami. The term "Picante" translates to 'spicy' in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
