History

Elderflower liqueur adds floral notes to this Tequila Martini variation.

Phil Ward created the Saramago in 2008 at Death & Co. in Manhattan, New York City. This drink pays homage to the Portuguese author José Saramago. Phil Ward also gave the name Baltasar & Blimunda to a cocktail he created around the same time, after the author's 1982 novel.
