Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Mezcal
1/2 oz Rosolio Bergamotto
1/2 oz Gentian liqueur
1/6 oz Honey and water syrup

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist (skewered).

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over cocktail, then roll and skewer for garnish.

Mezcal, citrus, herbal and honey notes with a bittersweet finish.

Adapted from a recipe created in 2025 by Aaron Sanchez at Lady Jane cocktail bar in Denver, Colorado. The drink is named after the horse belonging to Don Quixote, a character in Miguel de Cervantes' 1605/1615 novel, Don Quixote.
