History
This delicious Tequila Negroni shows how reposado's vanilla notes work better than bianco tequila. Orange zest upset its balance.
The Range Life was created in 2008 by Phil Ward at Death & Co. in Manhattan, New York City. Phil Ward's original recipe is: 2 ounces El Tesoro Reposado Tequila, ½ ounce Campari, ½ ounce Grand Marnier, and ½ ounce Punt E Mes. The instructions are to 'Stir all the ingredients over ice, then strain into a coupe. No garnish.' For this adaptation, the tequila has been reduced from 60ml (2oz) to 50ml (1⅔oz), with the other ingredients scaled from 15ml (½oz) to 12.5ml (5/12oz), as the original is quite boozy.
