History

J. E. Clapham of Clapham Cocktails shared this potent variation of the Boulevardier, stating, "This is truly excellent, though it does need crafty dilution and the wallop of Smith & Cross for the full effect." This assessment led to the inclusion of an optional splash of cold water for proper dilution.

Benjamin Schwartz created this drink circa 2010 at Little Branch in Manhattan, New York City. His original preparation called for Old Grand-Dad, at 57% alc./vol., and overproof Jamaican rum.
