History

Sage-forward gin highlights this herbal, subtly bittersweet cocktail, perfect for late nights.

A promotional postcard for the cocktail described it as, "An Automobile Cocktail, a glass of gasoline with a nut in it." The folk at Engine Gin based their version on Frank Meier's 1936 book, The Artistry of Mixing Drinks, as there are multiple versions of the Automobile. They included "a typical Ibiza liquor which we also soaked our bolt," but as it is not widely distributed, Bénédictine D.O.M. has been substituted.
