History
White chocolate and coconut ice-cream, with gin spirit offering vague rescue from blandness.
The creation of this drink is credited to Constantino (Constante) Ribalaigua Vert, who worked at the Floridita bar in Havana, Cuba. The recipe has been adapted from a menu from Bar Florida (which was later renamed Floridita) dated 1937. The name of the drink honors Pepin Rivero, who assumed control of the Cuban newspaper El Diario de la Marina following the passing of his father, Don Nicolas Rivero, in 1944.
