Panachée

3.3 3 ratings

Ingredients

1 oz Absinthe
1 oz Anisette liqueur
Top up with Chilled water

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

  1. 1 POUR first two ingredients into glass
  2. 2 Serve iced water separately in a small jug (known in France as a 'broc') so the drinker can dilute to their own taste (we recommend four-and-a-half shots)
  3. 3 Lastly, add ice to glass.

History

Anisette sweetens the absinthe, adding herbal aniseed flavour.

This is one of the earliest known absinthe mixtures. Today, ordering a 'panachée' at a French café will result in beer with lemonade (shandy).
