1 oz Gin
1 oz Dry vermouth
1 oz Rosso/sweet vermouth
1/6 oz White crème de menthe
1 dash Orange bitters

How to make

Serve in a martini glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a MARTINI GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

A classic Martini served 'perfect' with the faintest hint of mint.

This recipe was adapted from Harry Craddock's 1930 book, The Savoy Cocktail Book. The book lists the PALL MALL COCKTAIL as: 1 Dash Orange Bitters. 1 Teaspoon White Crème de Menthe. 1/3 Italian Vermouth. 1/3 French Vermouth. 1/3 Plymouth Gin. Shake well and strain in cocktail glass.
