History
Rum and vodka create an orange creamsicle flavour.
This drink became popular following its appearance in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. The 1970s cocktail features in a scene where Jake Blues (John Belushi) and his brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd), paroled convicts, are preparing for a concert to raise money to save the orphanage where they grew up. Their mission, described as "A mission from God," faces tension as the venue is surrounded by police. However, Jake's parole officer, Detective Burton Mercer (John Candy), wishes to see the concert before arresting Jake. He sits at a table and orders drinks for himself and two state troopers, asking, "Who wants an orange whip? Orange whip? Orange whip? Three orange whips!"
