Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Canadian whisky
3/4 oz Aromatized wine
1/4 oz Apricot liqueur
1 dash Aromatic bitters

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of apricot wedge.

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

  1. 5 Garnish with apricot wedge on rim.

Apricot adds flavour and richness to Canadian whiskey and aromatised wine.

This cocktail is adapted from William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Bar Book. In the book, the recipe is credited to "A. F. Lawrence". J. E. Clapham of Clapham Cocktails brought this drink to attention, having rebalanced the original recipe which used equal parts. NYMPH SPECIAL Invented by A. F. Lawrence 1/3 Canadian Club Whisky. 1/3 Apricot Brandy. 1/3 Lillet. Dash Angostura Bitters. Shake.
