History

An Aviation made with triple sec instead of maraschino liqueur.

This drink was developed in 2024 by J. E. Clapham of Clapham Cocktails. Mr Clapham's original recipe includes 60ml (2oz) cognac, 7.5ml (¼oz) triple sec, 15ml (½oz) crème de violette, and 10ml (⅓oz) lemon juice. Jason describes the drink as a hybrid between a Blue Moon and a Sidecar, which inspired its name.
