1 fresh Passion fruit
2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Red bitter liqueur
2 oz Apple juice
1/6 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

  1. 1 Cut passion fruit in half and scoop the flesh into shaker
  2. 2 Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into ice-filled glass.

Flavour profile

History

While often made with up to four times the amount of bitter liqueur, such high doses tend to overpower the other ingredients. Consequently, in December 2020, a comment below led to a more restrained recipe being developed. This version allows the passion fruit to be more prominent while still yielding a relatively dry cocktail.

This classic cocktail, named after the Italian Grand Prix circuit, is promoted by Campari.
