History
A sweet iced drink with lurid green melon flavour.
This recipe was created for the 1987 US launch of Midori green melon liqueur. On September 24, 1978, The Indianapolis Star newspaper reported on the launch, stating, "Midori will debut in the form of a Melancholy Baby, which is made by pouring Midori on crushed ice and served with a splash of lime juice." The cocktail did not become popular, but Midori liqueur was successful throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s.
