3/4 oz Cherry juice
3/4 oz Espresso coffee (hot)
1/2 oz Vanilla sugar syrup

History

An Espresso Martini tasting of cherry.

This drink is adapted from a recipe by Haley Traub, a winner of the USA Speed Rack competition in 2018. While competing, she was tasked with creating a variation on the Espresso Martini, drawing inspiration from her grandmother and her mother's black forest trifle. Haley's original recipe, featured in the 2024 book "A Quick Drink: The Speed Rack Guide to Winning Cocktails for Any Mood," calls for 15ml (½oz) of homemade vanilla demerara syrup.
