Serve in a coupe glass
Prepare
- 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
- 2 RIM glass with 3 parts Matcha powder (ceremonial or culinary grade) to 1 part powdered sugar. (Dip chilled/frozen glass into a plate covered with a thin layer of matcha and sugar mix.)
Method
- 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice. (No need to dry shake.)
- 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled, rimmed glass.
Garnish
- 5 No additional garnish. (The preprepared rim is garnish enough.)

Flavour profile
History
Despite ample white cacao liqueur, this cocktail is dry, with matcha supported by, rather than overwhelmed by, chocolate. Use a chef's ¼ teaspoon/1.25ml measure for matcha.
This recipe was developed in October 2025 after trying other bartenders' versions of a Matchatini. It is simpler than the Matcha Martini, but not as flavourful.
