A variation on the Rusty Nail with a subtle herbal sweetness.
This cocktail, served straight-up in a sugar-rimmed glass with a cherry, was adapted from a 2006 post on Kyle Branch's Cocktail Hotel blog. Mary Stuart, Mary Queen of Scots, was born December 8th, 1542, at Linlithgow Place in West Lothian. Her execution took place February 8th, 1587, in the Great Hall of Fotheringhay.
