History

A Sidecar with a gin influence.

This recipe is adapted from Harry Craddock's 1930 book, The Savoy Cocktail Book. Under his recipe for this drink, Craddock lists: 1/8 lemon juice, 1/8 Cointreau, 3/8 dry gin, and 3/8 brandy. He then comments, "This it is that gives to Radio Announcers their peculiar enunciation. Three of them will produce oscillation, and after five it is possible to reach the osculation stage."
