History

A tamed and smoked Boulevardier. Exceptionally good!

This drink is adapted from a 2016 recipe by Andy Aitken, first published on his Proof Cocktails blog. The cocktail's namesake, Lord Lucan (Richard John Bingham), the 7th Earl of Lucan, was a British peer and Anglo-Irish aristocrat. He vanished after being identified as the prime suspect in the bludgeoning death of his children's nanny and the attempted murder of his wife, Veronica Duncan. This followed the breakdown of their marriage and a contentious custody dispute, with Veronica identifying Lucan as the assailant. His blood-stained car was discovered abandoned, but police were unable to locate Lucan or his body. Despite alleged sightings globally, he was declared legally dead in 1999.
