History

Aromatic vermouth leads, but gin botanicals provide resistance in this flavourful 'medium' Martini.

Harry Craddock included this recipe in his 1930 book, The Savoy Cocktail Book. The Knickerbocker Cocktail is made with ⅓ French Vermouth, ⅔ Dry Gin, and 1 dash Italian Vermouth. After shaking well, it is strained into a cocktail glass, and lemon peel is squeezed over the top.
