History

This apéritif-style cocktail fits its name perfectly. Fans of Italian fizz will be interested to learn how well this spritz works when made with prosecco instead of champagne.

Fred Charlet created this cocktail in 2017 at La Cabane in Strasbourg, France. He described his intention: "The idea was to create a fresh cocktail made with French ingredients: Suze, St Germain and champagne: what else do you need to represent the typically French appetizer. May be a baguette and a béret, but that is not the subject here. I hope you will enjoy this cocktail and don't forget, a good French appetizer always match with French cheese." This drink is an adaptation, and shares its history with the Spritz and its family of cocktails.
