History

Named after its originating bar's Boston district, the Fort Point showcases rye whiskey, like many Manhattan variations.

John Gertsen, bar manager at Drink Bar in Fort Point, Boston, USA, created this cocktail in 2008, not long after the establishment opened. The bar sadly closed its doors in January 2024. Frederic Yarm, a fellow drinker, suggests, "It might have been the inspiration for the bar's 1919 Cocktail that got a bit more traction appearing on menus across town (rye split with Old Monk Rum, double the Punt e Mes & Benedictine, and addition of mole bitters)."
