1 oz Vermouth amaro (Pun.)
2/3 oz Red bitter liqueur

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

Garnishing a Negroni with lemon zest instead of orange is usually frowned upon, but the Fergroni does benefit, adding zesty vitality to this potentially heavy cocktail.

Chef Fergus Henderson created this variation on the Negroni, which is offered at all of his St John's restaurants located throughout London.
