This drink was created in 2013 by Scott Teague at Death & Co. in New York City, Manhattan. It was later featured in the 2014 book, Death & Co. Modern Classic Cocktails. FAIL-SAFE Scott Teague, 2013 Some cocktails are born from happy accidents. One evening, Scott Teague noticed several bottles positioned together behind the bar and decided to experiment. "I started playing around with them in Negroni proportions, and it worked," he said. ¾ ounce Perry's Tot Navy-strength Gin ¾ ounce Plymouth Sloe Gin ¾ ounce Aperol ½ ounce Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao 2 dashes Angostura Bitters Stir all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a double rocks glass over a single large ice cube. No garnish is required.
