1 barspoon Charcoal powder

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

1 MUDDLE blackberries in base of shaker
2 Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and strain back into shaker
3 DRY SHAKE (without ice) and fine strain into chilled glass.

History

A Rum Sour blackened with blackberries and charcoal powder. The black charcoal provides little flavour and given potential issues with charcoal, this cocktail is best appreciated without its addition.

This cocktail was widely made to celebrate the total solar eclipse that traversed the USA on 21 August 2017, the first such event in 38 years.
