History
This drink is a hybrid of Espresso Martini and Margarita.
Dre Masso created this recipe in 2016. While a variation of an Espresso Martini using tequila was featured on the Green and Red menu between 2005 and 2010, Masso first combined elements of The Tommy's Margarita with espresso during a US tour in 2016. Masso noted that the lime complemented the coffee's acidity and that the citrus needed to be reduced to one-third for proper balance.
