Ingredients

5 fresh Green grapes (seedless)
1 oz Gin
1 oz Red bitter liqueur
2/3 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of skewered orange slice wheel &/or green grape (sail)

Method

  1. 3 MUDDLE grapes in base of shaker.
  2. 4 Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.
  3. 5 FINE STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. 6 Garnish with skewered orange slice &/or grape.

History

Like a Negroni, with added citrus freshness and grape fruitiness.

In 2001, Vincenzo Errico crafted this drink at Match Bar in London, England. His original recipe called for: 6 Green grapes, fresh 60 ml (2 oz) London dry gin 15 ml (½ oz) Campari red bitter liqueur 15 ml (½ oz) Lemon juice, freshly squeezed 15 ml (½ oz) Simple syrup, made with a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water.
